These classes are held monthly and are not your usual run them up and down and hope for the best classes followed by a match meeting or mini show,
Our classes teach you how to get the best out of your dog (and yourself) by helping you to understand the best paces for your dog, how to handle him if you are having problems and teaching the dogs about being handled.
We are aware that some smaller dogs may easily get intimidated or frightened by larger or boisterous dogs, so we accommodate this by having small dogs at one side of the hall and large dogs at the other, this ensures that dogs are still mixing with other breeds and sizes but in a safe manner where they learn to be confident around them.
These classes are not for dogs that have aggression problems.
These classes can be taken in conjunction with puppy or training classes (and indeed recommended) as, after all, your dog is your pet and needs to behave well in society after his show career is over.
Good trainers will understand that the stand position is just as valuable position as sit or down so won’t ruin your dog for showing – this is a myth told by many breeders – good training should incorporate all positions which dogs are capable of learning and using – if taught properly dogs don’t automatically sit when you stop in the ring as many breeders will tell you
